I need to talk about this fucking clip, you guys. Just, bury me right here and now over everything that is going on here. First, Sam recognizing his strength in an absolute bitch of a situation. He recognizes he can, and has, survived worse in the past and has the strength to see this thing through. All while being sassy as fuck:  

If the Devil himself can work me over and I still come out on top, you think YOU, an “accent in a pantsuit” can do even remotely close to what I’ve already experienced?! Do. Your. Worst.

Look at that sassy asshole there. Smirking away while being tied up, in pain and shot.  

But then…look again. That LAST GIF, MAN. LOOK AT IT. The smirk? Still there. But…smaller somehow. Tighter. His little nod. But its his eyes. There is JUST SO MUCH going on in those eyes. A remnant of that feistiness, sure, but there is sadness there too. And perhaps a hint of fear. It isn’t just the fact that he’s survived torture from Lucifer. It’s LITERALLY HE HAS NOTHING LEFT. He thinks Dean is dead. Dean isn’t coming for him. There is nothing that this pantsuit can do to him now, because he thinks he has nothing left to take.  

His eyes are just speaking so many volumes there. I’ve said before that Jared is an amazing ‘face actor’. He can use his expressions so well without saying anything. I’d argue that its actually his biggest asset as an actor- his ability to communication all of his character’s tics and vulnerabilities without saying a word. And nowhere is this seen better than in that 3rd gif. I KNOW what Sam is thinking there. And I feel every little head bob, every little twitch at the lip, every little lump in his throat. The falter in his smile. It strikes a very deep chord.

Also, he’s hot af in that first gif. Just throwing that out there.
